2006 : Requirements for Radio Controllers & Probationary Radio Controllers

Acceptance for Training Trainee Period and Requirements Upgrade Radio Controller

Applications may be received from applicants 18 years of age and over.

Liaise with MSA Radio Co-ordinator regarding initial training requirements If you are upgrading to a Multi-Venue Radio Controllers License

(i) Sit in control during three events (One set of signatures per event)

(ii) Assist in controlling three events (One set of signatures per event)

(iii) Be involved in the pre-event organisation of three events (One set of signatures per event))

 

Demonstrate to assessors full familiarity and competence in the operation of all equipment

Also identification and preparation of all medical equipment

Applications may be received from Probationary Radio Controllers who have satisfied the requirements of the specified Trainee Period and Requirements

Applicants should be MSA Registered Rally Marshals at a minimum of Grade 1 level

Hold a Probationary Controller Licence Applications must also be accompanied by a letter of endorsement from an MSA Radio Co-ordinator

Applicants for Multi-Use grade must have attended at least 5 Multi-Use Rallies as a radio operator

OR

For Multi-Venue grade at least 10 rallies (of which a minimum of 5 must bhave been Multi-Venue events) as a radio operator

Collect signatures from active Licensed MSA Radio Controllers and Event Clerks of the Course, as validation of undertaking the following duties :

(i) Sit in control during three events (One set of signatures per event)

(ii) Assist in controlling three events (One set of signatures per event)

(iii) Be involved in the pre-event organisation of three events (One set of signatures per event))

Attend at least one out of three consecutive MSA Seminars to which you are invited In order to maintain their grade, Controllers should :

a) Apply annually to re-license providing evidence as below

b) Attend at least one out of three consecutive MSA Specialist Seminars to which they are invited

c) Gain a minimum of three signatures from Clerks of the Course annually to verify continued activity as a Controller, or, under exceptional extenuating circumstances, gain MSA Radio Co-ordinators signature to support re-licensing.

Complete all the required tasks as per the Trainee MSA Safety & Medical Communications Controllers Log Book. This Modular Training Programme must be completed in not less than 12 months and not more than 36 months from data of appointment as Probationary NOTE : Failure to produce this evidence may result in a review of the grade issued
