- Sign on in plenty of
time with the Chief Marshal, Stage Controller or organiser
- Be quite clear where
you are to marshal and what time you need to be there
- Be equally clear on
what your job is and whether you have all the equipment you need to do it

- Make yourself known
to other marshals and establish who is in charge
- Make sure you
understand any communication systems being used.
- Clear, unambiguous
communications between marshals are vital to avoid confusion
