Timing Upgrades

Subject to prior arrangement with the Chief Timekeeper of an event, new Timekeepers are encouraged to attend, observe and assist at all types of event with a view to eventual upgrading.

Specific upgrading requirements are available from the MSA or any member of the Appointments Panel for the appropriate discipline.

Applicants for upgrading should apply to a member of the relevant Appointments Panel. Their application should be accompanied by a recommendation from a Timekeeper for whom they have carried out timekeeping duties.

Application for the grade of Rally Timekeeper must be made via the Regional Association of the Club requesting the appointment

Each rally timekeeping grade has specific licensing, as set out within the MSA Officials Yearbook, so 

4.3 International Rally - may take charge at all rallies up to and including International.

4.3.1 National 'A' Rally - may take charge of all rallies up to and including National 'A'

4.3.2 National 'B' Rally or Rally Timekeeper (3.1.3) - may take charge of all rallies up to and including National 'B' (Manual Timing only)
