Just before Christmas 2000 say the vast majority of the Silk Radio Crew and their partners got together in Llanidloes for a Christmas meal, plus as it turned out in late November to also celebrate Tony's (SILK 7) early retirement for 9-5 work (Margaret apparently has other plans for him, hard luck mate) and Richard's birthday.

Just to get you salivating the "The Marshals Pre-Christmas dinner" menu was

Aaparagus wrapped in Parma Ham, breadcrumbed & sauted

(served with organic chutney, melon balls, orange & shallot salad, chestnut mushrooms & egg salad)

Lemon sorbet with iced vodka

Filet of Pork Hunagrian style

(Dry marinated in bay leaves, garlic and thyme, braised in butter, and served with a shallot and paprika and sour cream sauce)

OR

Filet of Beef Prince Albert

(Braised with chopped carrot, celery and onion and Madeira wine)

With

Fondant potatoes; creamed sweetcorn with mushrooms; french beans; stuffed tomatoes with rice, mint raisins & cinnamon & onion; carrots in honey & lemon

Brandy baskets with burnt honey icecream and a melody of fresh fruit

Festive dates and prunes

(poached in Mavrodaphne wine, stuffed with clotted cream and an almond and caramel praline)

All the above being consumed with a variety of aperitifs, wine and followed by digestifs before we all got changed and sampled the delights of Llanidloes's Blue Lagoon Nite-club.
