Just to get you salivating the 2001 "The Marshals Pre-Christmas dinner" menu was


A trio of :-

Duck & potato cake with apple & sage sauce,

Cheddar & Gruyere fritter with chutney,

and herb pancake with curried prawns


Roast sirloin of Beef with thyme & onion Yorkshire puddings


Roast loin of Pork stuffed with emmental

(served with fondant potatoes, steamed fine beans, sweetcorn fritters with spring onions, tomatoes stuffed with haricot beans & salami, creamed potatoes with celeriac, and braised carrots with honey & lemon)


Chocolate roulade with strawberries & kirsch

Gateau pithivier (with almonds and apricots)

Creme de Menthe ice cream


Coffee or tea or herbal infusions

Mincemeat filo tartlets


All the above being consumed with a variety of aperitifs, wine and followed by digestifs before we all got changed and sampled the delights of Llanidloes's.
