Just to get you salivating the 2003 "The Marshals Pre-Christmas dinner" menu was once again held at the

Waterhead Hotel, Coniston

after the 2003 Grizedale Stages

Chefs home-made Cream of Potato and Watercress soup served with a warm fresh baguette

Chilled Gondola of Honeydew Melon moated by a stem ginger and cinnamon sauce

Goujons of Haddock and Codling deep fried and served with a lime and herb mayonnaise on a bed of crisp seasonal leaves

Roast Broughton Turkey traditionally served with cranberry sauce. bacon roll and gravy made from the goodness of pan juices

OR

Vegetarian Chilli presented with a timbale of basmati rice

OR

Pan fried seared Tuna steak accompanied with a shrimp, prawn and lemon butter

OR

Braised steak, tender pieces of beef in a rich chasseur sauce

(all with seasonal vegetables and potatoes)

Selection of assorted home made sweets and desserts

Selection of European cheeses with biscuits

Variety of Dairy Ice Creams

Freshly brewed Filter Coffee and liqueurs

All the above being consumed with a variety of aperitifs, wine and followed by digestives before we all retired to the lounge bar for several hours discussions and social drinking.
